Development Manager

James plays a pivotal role in the full lifecycle of development projects. As Development Manager, he is responsible for the strategy, development, and execution of the firm’s development activities spanning design, permitting, budgeting and construction across all company projects. He oversees construction budgets and schedules while managing and coordinating contractors and consultants to ensure seamless project delivery. With a background in construction, James brings valuable knowledge to both the preconstruction and construction phases, helping to streamline operations and optimize project outcomes.

Prior to joining Trask Land Company, James developed a strong foundation in construction through hands-on experience with a single-family home builder during his college years. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration from East Carolina University in 2024, and upon graduation, spent over a year building his expertise in the single-family construction industry. James joined Trask Land Company in April 2025 as Development Coordinator before advancing into his current role as Development Manager, where he now leads the firm’s development activities from preconstruction through project completion.
